Center for Hypertension and Precision Medicine

RESEARCH PROGRAMS

Scientists affiliated to CHPM investigate mechanisms of hypertension and related vascular and metabolic diseases at the genetic, molecular, cellular and organ systems levels. Originally built on the grounds of a strong and unique Physiological Genomics Program established by its founder and Director, Dr. Bina Joe, the CHPM has rapidly grown into a multidisciplinary team of basic and clinical scientists of recognized expertise in genetics, vascular biology, cardiac and renal physiology, metabolism and neurophysiology. This multifaceted approach and the coordinated integration of research skills and resources, is key to the mission of CHPM.Ìý

There are currently six major areas of research that conform the Research and Education Core of the center:

1. PHYSIOLOGICAL GENOMICS:Ìý
