where do i find the institutional data i need for my proposal?

how do i apply for a limited submission rfp on behalf of utoledo?

A limited submission refers to a funding opportunity that places a limitation on the number of proposals a single entity can submit each cycle. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has an internal selection process in place to determine which applicants will be submitting to a sponsor for consideration.

the program i want to apply to requires online submission. what does rsp do?

The answer varies with the sponsor and program, but many require submission by the RSP office and many require the PI to have an account. Contact the RSP office to ensure you are correctly registered (if required) with the agency and to get information specific to your program.

i have questions on the budget for my proposal. can rsp help me?

Yes- RSP can assist with salaries, fringe benefit rates, indirect cost rates and calculations and more.

when do the investigator financial disclosure rules apply?

In accordance with PHS policy and as indicated in the relevant Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ policy, all individuals on a grant proposal, regardless of role, as well as unnamed individualsÌý involved in the design, conduct, or reporting of the program, are required to disclose any financial conflicts of interest annually and whenever there is a change of interests. Conflict of interest disclosures can be made in InfoEd.

whom should i contact about getting approval to use animals in my research?

For information regarding animal procurement, care, training and research facilities, please the Department of Laboratory Animal Resources (DLAR).

The Institutional Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is responsible for the oversight of all research activities involving animalsÌý at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ are done in accordance to all federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies.

whom should i contact about using hazardous substances, such as infectious agents or radioactive isotopes?

The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible for the administration and oversight of researchÌý involving the use of biological agents including but not limited to viruses,Ìý bacteria, fungi, parasites, recombinant and synthetic nucleic acids, select agentsÌý and toxins, human blood, cells and cell lines, stem cells, plant cell lines, non-rodent transgenic animals and animal blood, animal cells and cell lines, and other human and animal tissues and products.

who is responsible for copying and mailing a proposal?

The PI is responsible for these tasks. This includes shipping through FedEx, UPS, USPS and DHL.

my grant ends this year. how can i get an extension?

Start by contact the RSP office. Updated compliance forms may be required.

Can i apply for funding opportunities that require applicants to have a non-profit tax exempt 501c3 status?

If the funding opportunity's eligibility guidelines only allow for a nonprofit (501c3) to apply, then The University of Toledo Foundation typically submits and accepts the award on behalf of the University. See flow chart for more details.
