Urology Residency: How to Apply

Application Deadline Date: September 15, 2024

  • Two positions available yearly
  • Length of the Urology Residency Training Program: 5 yearsÌý (with 6 months General Surgery Experience)

Our Urology Residency Program utilizes the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) atÌý. If you are interested in applying, please coordinate with the Dean's office at your medical school to submit your application materials via ERAS.

Our program does participate in signaling.

Interview invitations and scheduling are managed using theÌýÌýplatform. Invitations are sent through Thalamus and link to our interview schedule. Candidates may manually schedule on a first-come first-reserved basis according to the set schedule. Candidates may elect to waitlist for different dates, however may only be scheduled for one interview day.


Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Urology Residency Program at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Applications for residency are accepted only throughÌýÌý(Electronic Residency Application Service). All applications are reviewed and invitations to interview are sent via email provided in ERAS application. The department also participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and two residents will be selected to join the five-year program.

Candidates qualifications for the Urology Residency Training program at the University of Toledo is based on the criteria listed below.

Application Requirements for Graduates of U.S. Medical Schools:
  • Common Application FormÌý
  • Curriculum VitaeÌý
  • Personal StatementÌý
  • Medical School transcript with current Urology gradesÌý
  • Dean's letterÌý
  • Three letters of recommendationÌý
  • USMLE Step 1, Step 2 and CS - (passed on the first attempt) ** We understand that due to COVID-19 some of these scores may not be available immediately when you apply. This will not prevent your application from being considered
  • Color Photo
Application Requirements for Graduates outside of U.S. and Canadian Medical Schools:
  • J1 visa sponsored only
  • Must have a current and valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)

Interview Information

This interview season will be hosted virtually through Thalamus' platform. The University of Toledo Urology residency Program will be participating in the SAU Standardized Invitations process and will extend invitations to interview on Friday, October 25.Ìý
