  • This program provides essential training in the use of computer-based methods for analysis of biomedical data, including identification and evaluation of biomarkers.
  • Designed to supplement training for current PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, medical residents, or those currently employed in jobs where such training would be useful. Law students interested in relevant areas of intellectual property law also find this training useful.
  • Students can take one or two courses per term, earning the Certificate in one or two years.
  • Currently enrolled University of Toledo PhD in Biomedical Sciences or MSBS students may take individual BIPG courses as electives, with permission of the instructor.

Required Courses

Note: Students can take any three of the five Bioinformatics courses listed above to receive their certificate. However there is one exception--asÌýÌýApplications of BioinformaticsÌýandÌýBiomarker Discovery Validation and Implementation haveÌýsome overlap, only one of those two courses can be counted towards the certificate.ÌýHowever, once one of these two courses is completed, the other cannot count as credit hours towards certificate completion (choose between the two).

Completion of all three courses alone is not sufficient. ÌýYou mustÌýapply onlineÌýto receive a Certificate.
