Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides U.S. students annual grants to study, conduct research, or teach English outside the U.S.   

This annual competition is administered by The , on behalf of U.S. Department of Statue’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. At UT, the program is administered by the the Office of Competitive Fellowships.

Grant Types and Special Programs

  • Fulbright Academic Study, Research, or a combination Grant
  • Fulbright Creative and Performing Arts Grant
  • Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program Grant
  • Fulbright – mtvU Award
  • Fulbright – Hillary Rodham Clinton Fellowship
  • Fulbright – National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship
  • Round-trip transportation
    • Funding covers room, board, and incidental costs
    • Accident and sickness health benefit

In some countries, grants may also include:

  • book and research allowances
  • mid-term enrichment activities
  • full or partial tuition
  • language study programs
  • pre-departure and in-country orientations

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this program through The University of Toledo, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be a graduating senior, master’s or doctoral candidate, graduate student, young professional, or artist
  • Demonstrate host country language proficiency to complete the proposed project
  • Enrolled students are required to apply through UT  

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Campus Deadline: Tuesday, September 3, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.

Interviews will be conducted the week of September 9th.

IIE Fulbright National Deadline: Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
