Constitutions explain how your organization conducts its business. Several sections should be included:

  • Name and affiliations (if any)
  • Purpose/mission
  • Membership (including the University's full non-discrimination statement)
  • Description of officers/positions and their roles
  • Elections/transition plan
  • Removal procedures (of officers and members)
  • Meeting structure
  • Amendments (how to change constitution)
  • Committees (if any)

Updating

If your organization needs to make changes to its constitution, please follow the procedures listed in the current version's Amendments process. Then send a copy of the new constitution to getinvolved@utoledo.edu so it can be updated in the Involvement Network.
